Leading facilities management company SGP Property & Facilities Management was last night awarded the BIFM Innovation in Technology and Systems Award 2011. The British Institute of Facilities Management Awards are designed to celebrate FM by highlighting the key role the discipline plays in the success of public and private sector organisations. The awards showcase some of the leading examples of excellence that the facilities management sector has to offer.
The judges selected SGP ahead of three other market-leading facilities management providers for its initiative with Altius Vendor Assessment, a renowned specialist in supplier management and assessment. The judges recognised the significant efforts to create a system that would reduce the risk profile for the client organisation and ease the burden on administration for contractors, whilst improving visibility of health and safety competence and financial health of the contractors for the supplier management team.
"We are delighted to have been recognised with the Award for Innovation in Technology and Systems as supplier management is one of the backbones of our service. This award is testament to the vision of our procurement and risk management teams who have worked to establish a system that delivers a step-change in the supplier accreditation arena. By its very nature the Altius system will benefit any organisation that chooses to adopt it as its supplier assessment programme," said Kevin Elliott, Managing Director, SGP.
