Sir John Colfox School

Image of Sir John Colfox School in Bridport, Dorset sits in 12 acres of grounds and was one of the first PFI schools to be completed in the UK. The school is a specialist language college and caters for around 900 pupils.

SGP took on the contract in 2010 following the collapse into administration of the previous facilities management company. Initially working 'under license', whilst the purchase of the contract was concluded, SGP set about improving service standards and completing works that had been delayed. SGP took over responsibility for the facilities team of 24 even though they were not yet able to transfer into the company.  This approach brought some immediate stability for the team, the customer and the community. All of which had been through a period of considerable uncertainty.

SGP took over responsibility for a full range of facility services that cover:

  • On-site facilities management and helpdesk
  • Lifecycle works management
  • Project management
  • Mechanical & electrical and building fabric maintenance
  • Catering
