Punch Taverns is the UK's leading pub company with over 7,100 leased and managed outlets. SGP has provided building, M&E and equipment maintenance services to the pub estate since 2004 and HQ buildings since 2010. The relationship has developed into a true partnership.
Project management
Following Punch Taverns acquisition of the Spirit Group, Project Sunrise was launched to consolidate three existing office buildings in Burton and create a new landmark HQ building and campus site that embraced 21st Century sustainable working practices.
The SGP facilities management team was an integral part of the whole project, not only as the project management lead for the relocation, but also in redefining the facilities management service that would pervade the campus. SGP was responsible for:
- space planning
- move management
- functional design input into furniture, fittings and finishes
- space utilisation surveys and the
- ongoing FM services.
Facilities management
The new FM structure is based on a managing agent service with a team of four based on site, supported by SGP's centralised helpdesk which captures and manages every service request.
SGP developed a new service specification for the campus and reviewed, renegotiated or re-tendered every service contract in line with the new requirements. This exercise delivered a 20% reduction in the annual FM budget and standardised the service delivery across both campus buildings.
BIFM award winner
Project Sunrise won the FM Excellence in a Major Project category at the 2010 British Institute of Facilities Management awards.
